A very nice evening on Wednesday, October 27th for the projection of the movie "Thomas Pesquet : l'envoyé spatial" at Mon Ciné in Anglet. Two guest speakers exchanged with a large audience: the astronaut Jean Jacques Favier, who flew on the STS 78 mission of the Space Shuttle, and Guy André Boy, professor, engineer, and member of the International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE).
We discussed the stakes of missions and space travel, past, present, and future. Dr. Jean Javier Favier shared his experience and his opinion on the future of space exploration, towards the Moon and Mars, as examples. I talked about my experience as chief scientist for "Human-Centered Design" at NASA Kennedy Space Center and on the design of a lunar rover, specifically the virtual camera navigation and exploration support concept.
Most of the members of ESTIA-Aero association attended, as well as many other students of the Ecole Supérieure des Technologies Industrielles Avancées (ESTIA Insitute of Technology).
